I’ve been watching this guy’s elliptical workout videos for a bit; I finally read his site. It has so much useful, motivational information! Check out  this diet info page on NowLoss.com. He raises a lot of logical points.

You’d have to eat 9 medium sized carrots (and good luck trying to do that) to get same amount of calories contained in a bag of M&M’S

I don’t agree with every piece of advice, but most of it is pretty awesome. Mostly it inspires me of what to eat when I can’t think of anything to eat. Oh, but there’s no way in hell I’m drinking V8. Ew… Yuck… Blech!

Now I just need to hurry and get an elliptical machine for home.

Flying Fat

So I was reading an article about a fat guy who was kicked off a flight because a guy didn’t want to sit next to him.

The Facts:
– He checked and saw that his size did not exceed the seating requirements.
– He purchased an aisle seat and was later forced into a middle seat.
– The complainer was offered 2 other seats and refused to take them.

My opinion:
The complainer was a selfish tool and should have been forced to either take one of those open seats or sit back down and stfu.

I’m 6ft tall and big, but not big enough to buy another seat. My boyfriend is kinda as you described – 6’2″ around 230 muscular with very broad shoulders. The thing we complain about is lack of leg room. And God forbid someone push their seat back. The pain is real.

The problem is the seats are too small. It’s not like tall people are a rarity. And you don’t have to be morbidly obese to take up more space than your seat allows. One row od people who are 5’8″ and like 150 lbs each and no one is going to be comfortable. The problem is they’re trying to cram us all in like sardines to make more money and it’s wrong.

All Jokes Aside

I’m actually getting worried now. Like, “is there something wrong with me” worried. I’ve gained another 6 pounds in the past 2 weeks and I’m not sure how/why. I’ve been using MyFitnessPal (synced with my FitBit) to log what I’m eating almost every day and I don’t get it. In the past 2 weeks, I’ve had ice cream (my major vice) only 3 times and one of those was gelato– which has half the calories and fat.

I’m cooking dinner and having leftovers for lunch. More veggies. Taking fiber. Less coffee (though still 24oz per day, but better than 48 -64). Holy crap! That’s probably why I’m having headaches. Caffeine withdrawal. Derp. Well, I’m drinking more water. Only 24-48oz per day usually, but MUCH better than the 24-48oz per week I was getting. Have I mentioned how much I hate water?

New plan, drink even more water. Go to bed by midnight. Have two 12oz cups of coffee instead of one 24oz cup to see if the headaches chill. Then wean down by replacing one cup with tea eventually.

Most importantly, go to the doctor.

Oh, Fiber!

psyllium_seed So a friend of mine is a nutritionist; a very close friend who knows my eating habits well and used to be on MyFitnessPall with me. So she knows I don’t get enough fiber, and that I don’t get enough vitamins and minerals in general. So she advised me to get some psyllium husk capsules since Metamucil is full of extra color and flavor nonsense.

Since taking the psyllium, I’ve noticed my poop is better. It’s still poop though so it’s not like I’m excited about it. I’m supposed to feel fuller longer but I’m not totally sure that part is kicking in yet. My appetite fluctuates. I can have coffee in the morning and not be hungry until 2-3pm. I’m also not taking 3 capsules 3 times per day. I’m working up to it. Sometimes I’m lucky if I take it twice. So we shall see.

I have to chug down a glass of water with it, so at least it’ll help with my water intake. Apparently the psyllium soaks up the water in my stomach, so if my stubborn arse doesn’t drink enough water, I’ll regret it.
